Dr Maree Lee, fertility specialist Sydney

A fertility specialist and gynaecologist in Bella Vista, Westmead and Wahroonga, Dr Maree Lee is committed to delivering patient care built on understanding, information, and the exploration of all available treatment options.

Meet your doctor

Hi, I'm Dr Maree Lee

I started my practice because I want to change how patients experience fertility and gynaecological care. For years, I’ve heard people talk about arriving at doctor appointments informed and prepared, only to leave disheartened when avenues are dismissed with little explanation. I believe knowledge is powerful for both doctor and patient. The more I know about my patients, the better I can treat you; the more you know about your health and possible treatments, the better your decisions.

I am passionate about reproductive health, which is why I spent an additional three years training as I work towards becoming a CREI. I ensure that I stay ahead of the latest advancements and I am a strong advocate for responsible innovation that offers new treatment paths that can enable improved patient outcomes.

If you are looking for a specialist who leaves no stone unturned, and delivers care through a combination of empathy and expertise, let’s book our first conversation.

What is the CREI qualification?

Dr Maree Lee is currently in the final stages of completing her Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI), the highest subspecialist qualification available to fertility specialists in Australia, held by fewer than 2% of practising obstetricians and gynaecologists.

The CREI qualification involves three years of dedicated learning across assisted reproduction, reproductive endocrinology, complex female and male infertility, fertility preservation, genetics, paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, menopause, and reproductive surgery. This advanced training means Dr Maree brings subspecialist depth and unique insights to even the most complex cases.

Dr Maree further complements her CREI training with a Master of Reproductive Medicine (UNSW) and a Diploma of Genomics (USyd). She is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Westmead Hospital and is also devoted to training the next generation of specialists in her role as a Conjoint Lecturer at Western Sydney University.

How Dr Maree works with you

Having values is important, but to Dr Maree, they aren’t meaningful unless she is living by them every day in the way she works.

Information is everything

While she always delivers with compassion, and is driven by comprehensive medical exploration, for Dr Maree, information is the most important aspect of the service she brings to her patients. It shapes their research in a responsible and realistic direction, empowers control over their treatments and outcomes, and enables a genuinely better care experience.

Guiding is not deciding

As a doctor, Maree is dedicated to providing every option possible to her patients. She helps them towards decisions that will bring them closest to achieving their goals, while also considering their mental and physical health. She knows her role is in supporting  patients, not deciding for them, and she takes that duty seriously, ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident making their own medical choices.

Relationships not transactions

For Dr Maree, patient care is never transactional. From the first appointment, to fertility treatment, pain management, perimenopause and annual gynaecological check ups, she is a partner in health care, and an ongoing resource as patients plan and grow their families, age, change and navigate any challenges that arise. Support is not something that happens only in appointments, but is ongoing throughout the entire relationship.

Where to find Maree
